An Ayrshire teen has raised over £600 for the Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH) last month.
Abigail MacLeod, 17, from Kilmarnock put on a fun day on June 26 to raise vital funds for mental health awareness.
The thoughtful Stewarton Academy pupil said: "I think that mental health, especially after the pandemic, is so overlooked in young people.
"The educational sect is focussed on more rather than the mental and emotional part of young people's lives today.
"So I wanted to do anything I could to help."
SAMH provides mental health social care support for adults and young people with services in primary care, schools, and further education.
"We had loads of stalls, fun activities, a drama workshop which was run by Nikki McCabe who operates Livewire theatre company, a treasure hunt, nail painting," added Abigail.
"It was my goal to use this fun day to increase mental health awareness and introduce coping strategies to children in a fun way.
"I was thrilled to have raised £620, really fantastic and I didn't expect to raise as much as we did.
"I'm so thankful to all of our volunteers who helped on the day and to everyone who showed up and donated.
"It was also lovely to see all of the kids from our primary schools come along on the day.
"I would love to make the fun day an annual event."
