Annanhill Primary School is celebrating following a glowing report after the results of its recent inspection were published by Education Scotland.
The Kilmarnock school was inspected in February by His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Education (HMIE) with inspectors praising the staff for their ‘relentless drive’ and noted that they had ‘created a culture of high expectations.’
Staff also received praise for ‘calm, purposeful learning environments’ within the school. The report also noted the positive relationships the children and young people enjoyed with their teachers and staff as well as the inclusive ethos of the school.
School staff were lauded for developing their strong professional partnership and collaboration as a team, which it was recognised has improved children’s experiences, particularly helping to meet the needs of children who require support.
Education Scotland’s evaluations on both learning, teaching and assessment as well as raising attainment and achievement were rated as ‘good’.
Head teacher Emma Johnstone said: “A team of six inspectors from Education Scotland joined us for a week back in February and participated in all aspects of school life. The children and young people had a vital role to play in the inspection process, meeting and talking with the inspectors and it was our young people who lead the tours of the school.
“I am so proud of our children and young people, they are amazing individuals and seeing them shine is so important me and the whole team.
