Ashley Cain has given fans a glimpse into the physical strain of his "extremely tough" Ultraman challenge in a gruesome video shared to his social media - without a trigger warning.
The 33 year old is undertaking an epic journey from Land's End to John O'Groats three times - running the entire distance north, cycling back to the bottom of England and then kayaking back to the top of the Scottish coast covering nearly 3,000 miles.
The former footballer has been documenting his Ultraman 2024 challenge, which he is doing in memory of his daughter Azaylia who tragically lost her battle with cancer in 2021. On Saturday 1 June, the star shared a video montage on Instagram showing his foot, bloodied and bandaged, with a toenail coming off, leaving some fans horrified.
Another gory clip showed a cream-coloured liquid seeping from another toe, as he revealed that his feet, stress fractures and "tears" were "getting a chance to heal" during the cycling part of his journey. One fan commented: "The fight of a real warrior, keep going champ", while another wrote: "Iv not got a weak stomach but that definitely needed a warning".
One of Ashely's followers called out those asking for a trigger warning, saying that nothing compares to the suffering of a child and praising him for undertaking the worthy challenge. Alongside the clips, Ashley, who recently welcomed a little boy, added: "Trying to grind out over 100 miles a day through all conditions with a completely exhausted mind and body is extremely tough and quite emotionally challenging.
