Ashley Cain has hit back at online trolls after his ex Safiyya Vorajee opened up on their break up. The former professional footballer, 33, and his aesthetic practitioner ex, 36, tragically lost their beloved daughter Azaylia to leukaemia in 2021 when she was just eight months old.
The pair, who had been together from 2017, announced their split in March 2022 - weeks before the first anniversary of their child’s death. Safiyya recently opened up on their split - describing how she was left ‘screaming and crying’ inside after Ashley told her he was going to have a baby with another woman.
She also claimed he had asked her to have another baby after their break up - adding she believed they would get back together one day. Ashley - who said "recollections may vary" following the claims - has recently been bombarded with negative comments under his social media posts. And on Wednesday night he took to Instagram to share a defiant message in response.
The Real Full Monty star said: "Just because I don't speak, doesn't mean I can't speak, just means I choose not to.
Protection of the things and people I love that are in, have been or will be in my life will always come above and beyond anything else. "No matter how many stones get thrown, or how hard they hurt, I will always stand on that." His statement was made alongside a comment from a fan who had defended him online.
That message read: "All these judgemental, horrible, got nothing better to do except put down a grieving father because he has moved on need to get a frigging life.. just because you don't see him crying or being sad does not mean he is okay.
