Asda has launched a new credit card that will rewards customers with money they can later spend in store or online.
The supermarket giant has partnered with JaJa finance company to launch the Asda Money Credit Card which will allow shoppers to earn cashback on every purchase. Launching exclusively as part of the supermarket's loyalty scheme, the credit card will help shoppers out during the cost of living crisis with an unlimited 1% cashback on every Asda purchase.
Shoppers can also earn a further 0.3% on purchases spent outside of Asda.
The scheme will see Asda shoppers earn 1% for every £1 that they spend when they use their card when they purchase groceries, fuel and other Asda services. Shoppers looking to sign up for the Asda Money Credit Card will need to download the Asda Rewards app to begin earning their cashback.
Asda's loyalty programme can be downloaded for free on Google Play and The App Store. The big four grocer's first ever loyalty scheme was first launched last year and lets shoppers build up a 'cashpot' of rewards that can be redeemed in-store, or online.
Shoppers can redeem their cash whenever they choose by creating a voucher with their saved money that can be then used on their next shop. Anyone applying for Asda's credit card before August 28 2022 will earn a higher rate of 2% back on their Asda purchases.
News of the credit card scheme and its cashback rewards will come as welcome news to shoppers who are grappling with rising grocery costs at the supermarket.
