Anybody doubting that just had to catch Disney Branded Television’s presentation of company’s buying needs, given by Rick Clodfelter at Saturday’s MipJunior. 100 or so execs sat listening to him. Far more delegates packed out the little standing space at the JW Marriott’s Salon Suquet in Cannes. Very few execs left, dismayed they couldn’t get a seat. Elsa Keslassy International Correspondent Mediawan Kids & Family’s animation label Somewhere Animation is set to produce its first show, “Chefclub Adventures,” a colorful comedy series set in the world of cooking. The Paris-based company, which is dedicated to 2D animation, is partnering up with the popular brand and studio Chefclub to create the series. “Chefclub Adventures” will be distributed in France and worldwide by Mediawan Kids & Family. It will be introduced to buyers at Mipcom Junior as one of the five finalists. Founded in 2016 by the Lang brothers, Chefclub runs an online digital cooking channel and website drawing 2.5 billion views each month worldwide, including 390 million views each month in France and one billion in the U.S., according to Mediawan.

Jennifer Maas TV Business Writer A new trailer for the third and final season of Paramount+’s “Star Trek: Picard” launched out of New York Comic Con Saturday, revealing new additions to the Patrick Stewart-led show’s cast — including the return of some iconic villains from “Star Trek: The Next Generation.” Per Paramount+, Brent Spiner will be back on “Picard,” not as Data, but as a character the streamer describes as “named Lore” — evoking one of the most formidable villains in “Next Generation” history: Data’s evil twin brother, Lore, who was defeated and disassembled at the beginning of Season 7 of “Next Gen.” Additionally, Daniel Davis will return as Professor Moriarty from “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” the Holodeck personification of a fictional character created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle to be an enemy for Sherlock Holmes. “Next Gen’s” Moriarty ended up becoming self aware.

With streaming making everything accessible everywhere, and audiences no longer balking at subtitles, quality Asian drama can and will travel.

One day after Anstead filed court docs alleging that his and Hall's 3-year-old son, Hudson, is being «exploited» by the HGTV star, Hall fired back with a court filing of her own.In Anstead's court filing, obtained by ET, he noted that, since he sought -- and was denied — emergency temporary orders in April, he and Hall resolved «a lot» of their custody issues and Hudson «has now adapted to the new 50/50 custodial schedule.» In Hall's court filing, which ET obtained, she called Anstead's statement «grossly misleading» as «Hudson has always been well adjusted to that schedule,» which has been in place for more than a year.According to Anstead, the one «unresolved issue» is that of «whether or not it is in Hudson's best interests to have his name, image, and likeness exploited in commercials and he be compelled to appear on Christina’s 'reality TV' shows.»«Christina has already exploited Hudson in numerous paid promotions on social media,» Anstead claimed.
