'Artemis Fowl': 17 Things We Learned on Set of Disney Plus' New Fantasy Film

LONDON — Tucked inside a fully-stocked library on the second-floor of a sprawling, built-from-scratch mansion, Sir Kenneth Branagh says it’s not much of a stretch going from the Marvel Cinematic Universe to a world of precocious boy geniuses and fairies.

June isn’t off to a particularly great start, following the already awful events of the rest of the year so far, but if there’s anything to look forward to it’s some terrific films scheduled for release this month. From the latest films by Spike Lee and Josephine Decker to festival favorites that built buzz in the last year, there’s plenty to engage in.

And with that, a new streaming platform has entered the ring. HBO Max finally launched after the much-talked-about announcement that they’ll soon release the anticipated Snyder Cut of “Justice League,” “Friends,” every Studio Ghibli movie, and thousands of other titles.

We are just weeks away from the release of the next big Disney movie, this time directly onto its streaming platform, Disney+. Artemis Fowl was originally set to land in cinemas this month, but when the cinemas closed due to coronavirus, the decision was made to move the film to find an audience.
