Armed police descended on a Scots property amid reports of a 'disturbance' on Monday afternoon.
Several police cars and armed officers were spotted by locals in the Aldi supermarket in the Thornybank Industrial Estate shortly before 3pm today.
Residents in the Thornybank Square area, Dalkeith, were warned to stay indoors while the specialist officers raided a home.
Edinburgh Live reports that Police Scotland have now confirmed a man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident remain ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A man has been arrested following a disturbance at an address in Thornybank Square, Dalkeith to which police were called around 2.45 pm on Monday, 29 August, 2022. Enquiries are continuing."
They added: "Armed officers were in attendance, however, the incident was brought to a swift and peaceful conclusion with no risk to the wider public."
