Florence Pugh for her “unbothered energy” after she was filmed holding an Aperol spritz and strutting in Venice amid rumours of a feud between herself and Olivia Wilde. The rumours of a conflict between the Don’t Worry Darling star and Wilde, who directed the film, escalated after Pugh, 26, skipped a press conference for the upcoming movie ahead of the film’s red carpet premiere in Venice on Monday.
Florence Pugh, the actress who stars alongside Harry Styles in "Don’t Worry Darling," has recently been at the center of controversy with the film's director, Olivia Wilde. On Monday, the actress was notably missing from the Venice Film Festival’s press conference as she was on a flight leaving for the "Dune: Part Two" set. Wilde was asked about the rumored "falling out" between the two as she attempted to dodge the question. When asked about the controversy, Wilde responded, "Florence is a force, and we are so grateful that she's able to make it tonight despite being in production on ‘Dune.’" Florence Pugh attends the "Don't Worry Darling" red carpet at the 2022 Venice Film Festival. "Don't Worry Darling" is garnering heaps of press, but none of it actually surrounds the film. In a now viral video, actor Harry Styles is seen taking his seat next to co-star Chris Pine for a screening of the movie on Monday at the Venice Film Festival. The awkward video shows Styles not making eye contact with either Pine or Olivia Wilde, his director and girlfriend, as he sits down. As Styles turns to sit, you see Pine look down at his pants, pause, and then guffaw at whatever just transpired. Chris Pine was sandwiched between Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles during the film's screening.
Manori Ravindran International Editor Olivia Wilde isn’t commenting on alleged tensions between her and Florence Pugh, the lead of her movie. When asked at a Venice press conference whether Wilde can “clear the air” about the rumors surrounding their strained relationship, the director said: “Florence is a force. We are so grateful she’s able to make it tonight [for the red carpet]. I’m grateful to her, and to [‘Dune’ director Denis Villeneuve] for helping us. I can’t say how honored I am to have her as our lead. “As for all the endless tabloid gossip out there, the Internet feeds itself. I don’t feel the need to contribute; I think it’s sufficiently self-nourished,” said Wilde.
Wilson Chapman editor Paul Dano, Seth Rogen, Sebastian Stan and Pete Davidson will lead the cast of “Dumb Money,” an upcoming film about last year’s GameStop stock market explosion. Based on the nonfiction book “The Antisocial Network” by Ben Mezrich, “Dumb Money” is directed by Craig Gillespie, from a script penned by Rebecca Angelo and Lauren Schuker Blum. Gillespie previously collaborated with Stan on his 2017 film “I, Tonya” and directed him and Rogen in several episodes of this year’s Hulu limited series “Pam & Tommy.” Gillespie produces with Teddy Schwarzman and Ryder Picture Company. “Dumb Money” focuses on the January 2021 “short squeeze” movement around GameStop, where users of the Reddit page “Wall Street Bets” banded together to artificially increase the stock values of video game retail chain GameStop, which suffered from lagging stock prices for years. The situation resulted in major hedge funds as well as independent short sellers taking significant financial losses, and it caused calls for more regulation of the stock market. Filming for the project, which focuses on the Reddit users behind the short squeeze, is set to begin this September.
