Arctic Monkeys set to headline Lowlands Festival 2022

Calvin Harris, Napalm Death and Jax Jones lead a raft of new acts who have been announced for EXIT Festival 2022.Honey Dijon, Maceo Plex, ZHU, James Arthur and Marky Ramone are also among the 60 new additions to the bash, which is set to take place at the Petrovaradin Fortress in Serbia from July 7-10.They join the previously announced headliners Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, with more headliners expected to be unveiled in the coming weeks. Foals have spoken about how they now feel comfortable being “in a lane of one”, adding that they no longer feel competitive with other bands.The Oxford band were speaking to NME for this week’s Big Read cover story to launch their upcoming new album, ‘Life Is Yours’. While this upcoming record will be Foals’ seventh album, frontman Yannis Philippakis “balked” at the suggestion that the band were now “indie statesmen”.“I mean, I don’t agree with the ‘indie’ bit, I guess, weirdly – or the statesmen bit,” Yannis told NME.

Kendrick Lamar is set to perform new music during a headline show in Milan, Italy, this summer.The Compton rapper is thought to be working on the long-awaited follow-up to his April 2017 album ‘DAMN.’, though speculation about a possible new single emerging before his performance at the Super Bowl Halftime Show last weekend went unfounded.Lamar has now announced a new live date at the Ippodromo SNAI San Siro in Milan as part of the Milano Summer Festival. The rapper is set to perform on June 23, where he will showcase new material.When translated from Italian, a description on the festival organisers’ website reads: “Kendrick Lamar returns to Italy with a super anticipated show which, produced and distributed by Vivo Concerti, will see him perform – after 8 years from his first performance in Italy, in 2014 – at the Milan Summer Festival (Ippodromo Snai) [on] Thursday 23 June 2022”.A post shared by Milano Summer Festival (@milanosummerfestival)The description then promises that Lamar “will play the pieces of the new album, long awaited by the fans” during his Milan show.You can find tickets and more information about Lamar’s Milan gig by heading here.The rapper has not announced any further tour dates at the time of writing.

Gorillaz and Massive Attack have been announced as two of the headliners of We Love Green Festival 2022.Billed as “the world’s leading sustainable festival”, We Love Green will return after a two-year absence to Bois de Vincennes in Paris on June 2 and 4-5. IDLES, Little Simz and Father John Misty are among the leading names on the line-up for BBC Radio 6 Music Festival 2022.The annual live music event is set to take place in multiple venues in Cardiff from April 1-3, marking the first in-person festival to be held by 6 Music since 2020.

Green Man has announced the first wave of acts to play its already sold-out 20th anniversary event. Among the headliners appearing at the popular bash in the Brecon Beacons are German electronic music legends Kraftwerk, acclaimed UK singer-songwriter Michael Kiwanuka, Baltimore pop duo Beach House and eclectic dance-rockers Metronomy.

Caribou and Happy Mondays are set to be among the headliners of Bigfoot Festival 2022.The UK’s first craft beer music festival, which held its inaugural edition last year, is set to take place at Claydon Estate (near Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire) from June 17-19.Caribou and Happy Monday have been announced this morning (February 8) as the first two headliners for Bigfoot 2022, with a third headliner set to be announced soon.The likes of Self Esteem, Shame, Working Men’s Club, Octo Octa, India Jordan, Erol Alkan and Hayden Thorpe have also been announced on the line-up for this year’s festival.You can see the line-up so far for Bigfoot Festival 2022 in the above poster, with more additions set to be announced soon.Bigfoot has also confirmed that the British breweries Braybrooke, DEYA, Gipsy Hill, Howling Hops, Purity, Signature Brew, Two Tribes, Verdant and Wild Beer will all provide drink at this year’s festival.General tickets for Bigfoot Festival 2022 will go on sale at 9am GMT this Friday (February 11) from here.

Little Simz has been announced as a headliner of the West Holts stage at Glastonbury Festival 2022.The rapper last played the stage in 2016 for a mid-afternoon set. Björk, Groove Armada and Metronomy are among the acts that have been announced as headliners for this year’s Bluedot Festival.The fifth instalment of the music, science and culture event is set to take place at Cheshire’s Jodrell Bank Observatory on July 21–24, 2022.The 2020 edition of Bluedot Festival was supposed to be headlined by Björk, Groove Armada and Metronomy but was postponed to 2021 because of COVID-19. With restrictions still in place this June though, the festival was once again forced to postpone to 2022.In a statement released at the time about the headliners returning, it was confirmed organisers were “working with these artists to hopefully welcome them back in 2022”.It’s now been confirmed that all three acts are returning along with other headliners Mogwai and Hannah Peel.Björk’s Sunday set – a festival exclusive – will see her joined by The Hallé Orchestra at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Jodrell Bank Observatory.

Burning Man has announced the ticket details for this year’s festival.The event will return to the Black Rock Desert, Nevada between August 28 and September 5, 2022, after the COVID pandemic forced the cancellation of both its 2020 and 2021 editions.Tickets for this year’s Burning Man will be available via multiple tier releases throughout the months leading up to the festival, the first being tomorrow’s FOMO Sale (February 2).This initial batch will include higher-priced tickets – costing between $1,500 to $2,500 (£1,100 to £1,850) – with the aim of supporting Burning Man and the wider community that surrounds the event, as DJ Mag reports.Fans who opt to book through the FOMO Sale give low-income fans a chance to attend the event, as well as helping organisers to fund art grants.The next tier is the Ticket Aid Program – formerly known as the Low-Income Ticket Program – which provides access to lower-priced tickets for fans whose “applications demonstrate that their circumstances merit financial assistance and convey their intended engagement in Black Rock City in a meaningful contribution to the community”.Black Rock City is coming back in 2022, and we can’t wait to head Home!
