Anyone with an iPhone is being urged to check their settings and download an important update issued from Apple.
The US tech giant recently released software in a bid to target two serious security flaws. The update also fixes a bug currently causing some devices to overheat.
To ensure your device is properly updated, head to your setting app where you will find iOS 17.0.3 available to install. Once installed, the update will better protect your iPhone from an attack that has been given a dreaded Zero-day rating. This rating means that hackers are already aware of the glitch and may therefore be exploiting it in order to tap into devices. So, it is really important to make sure your device is updated as soon as possible, reports the Mirror.
"Apple is aware of a report that this issue may have been actively exploited against versions of iOS before iOS 16.6," the firm said on its security pages.
In addition, iOS 17.0.3 will provide some relief to anyone who has recently purchased the newly released iPhone 15.
The new device has been causing concern by overheating, with various users making complaints. Apple has also confirmed that the heat issue is impacting the new device.
The tech company is hoping to tackle the overheating, found to be caused by a bug in iOS 17, with the update.
"This update provides important bug fixes and security updates, and addresses an issue that may cause iPhone to run warmer than expected," Apple's release notes state.
It is recommended that you update as soon as possible if this upgrade apply to your device. The update is around 500MB in size, meaning it is best performed when at home and connected to your Wi-Fi.
