He was 91.Trintignant died at his home in southern France, his wife, Marianne, and agent told the Agence France-Presse.Trintignant was more recently known for roles in Krzysztof Kieslowski’s “Red” and for starring opposite Emmanuelle Riva in Michael Haneke’s “Amour,” winner of the 2013 Oscar for best foreign film.Taciturn and enigmatic, the “reluctant” actor, who came by his profession by accident and several times announced he was quitting, returned time and again to appear in more than 100 films and achieve international stardom over of a period of more than 40 years working with some of the world’s great directors including Claude Chabrol, Abel Gance, Bernardo Bertolucci, Costa-Gavras, Ettore Scola and Francois Truffaut, as well as Kieslowski and Haneke.
Appeal as police hunt man wanted for criminal damage and assault

Police have issued an appeal for help to find a man wanted in connection with an assault and criminal damage.
Officers are hunting for Jack Gregory after an incident on April 24 in Leigh. The 30-year-old has links to the Leigh area, as well as the Atherton area in Wigan, police said.
Police have issued a picture of Gregory on social media as part of an appeal. They are urging anyone with information about where he is to come forward.

A post on the GMP Leigh, Atherton and Hindley page said: "#WANTED | We're appealing for help to trace Jack Gregory (30), who is wanted in connection with a Section 47 assault and criminal damage that took place in #Leigh on 24 April 2022. Gregory is known to have links to the #Atherton and #Leigh areas of #Wigan.
"Anybody with information regarding the whereabouts of Gregory is asked to contact police on 0161 856 3622 or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111."

Police Agree To End Stings In NYC Bus Terminal Bathrooms, Will Pay $40,000 In Damages
The Port Authority Police Department (PAPD) has agreed to stop sending plainclothes officers to the Port Authority Bus Terminal men’s restrooms in order to arrest gay, bisexual, and gender nonconforming people and falsely accuse them of public lewdness and exposure. The PAPD has also agreed to pay a total of $40,000 in damages to the two men who were part of a federal lawsuit over their arrests. As part of the agreement before a federal court, PAPD said they will also include LGBTQI sensitivity training for all new recruits. “This settlement represents an important victory for our clients, Cornell Holden and Miguel Mejia, who bravely fought to end the Port Authority Police Department’s discriminatory and, frankly, downright creepy practice of surveilling men the officers believed to be gay while using public urinals and falsely arresting them for public lewdness,” Molly Griffard, Staff Attorney at The Legal Aid Society, said in a statement.
