Anonymous email demanding 'large amount of money' sent to school - before cops called in

An anonymous email demanding a 'large amount of money' was sent to a school, prompting a visit from police.
Bosses at Manchester Enterprise Academy 'followed normal procedure' and contacted Greater Manchester Police after the message was received overnight.
Concerned parents contacted the Manchester Evening News after officers were seen at the school in Wythenshawe on Tuesday.

Bosses have now shed light on the reason for the visit from GMP.
A statement read: "Overnight, we received an email from an anonymous source demanding a large amount of money from the school.
"Although we didn't feel this email was very credible, due to the nature of the email we followed normal procedure and contacted the police.
"The police were onsite for a short time this morning speaking to school leaders.
"At no point was the safety of students or staff in question."
Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for comment.
