Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Andrew Robertson is suffering from illness – raising questions if he will make Scotland's forthcoming World-Cup warm up match with Poland.
Robertson played the full 90 minutes of Liverpool' s 2-0 victory at Arsenal on Wednesday night.
However the Scotland captain was left out of the Liverpool squad to face Nottingham Forrest today with Klopp giving 'illness' as the reason for Robertson's absence.
Klopp told ITV: "Robbo is ill, it finally got him as well."
Whether this rules Robertson out of Scotland’s upcoming friendlies against Poland on March 24 and either Austria or Wales on March 29 remains to be seen but it could be a chance for Bologna star Aaron Hickey to win his first cap after getting the nod on Tuesday.
The news comes as a blow to Scots boss Steve Clarke who has already seen several key personnel pull out of the squad.
This has meant Craig Halkett and Ross Stewart are set to be drafted into Clarke's squad for the first time ahead of the friendly at Hampden.
Hearts defender Halkett arrives amid a spate of injuries at centre-back while Stewart has over 20 goals up front for Sunderland.
