The doors to Amoeba Music’s iconic Sunset Boulevard location have permanently closed ahead of schedule due to the coronavirus pandemic.On Monday (April 27), Amoeba announced that the famed Los Angeles retail outlet would not be reopening at its original location, where it has sat since 2001.

Owners believe California is unlikely to let such a high-traffic store reopen in full this summer — and that survival dictates devoting money and energy to opening at 6200 Hollywood Blvd. regardless.
