Amber Heard ’s lawyer has spoken out about the damages the actress has been ordered to pay Johnny Depp, and said her client can “absolutely not” afford the $10 million. Yesterday, Wednesday 1 June, the jury ruled in Johnny’s favour after just 13 hours of deliberation. The Murder on the Orient Express actor went on to be awarded $15million in damages – $10m (£8m) in compensatory damages and $5m in punitive damages.
Meanwhile, the jury ruled actress Amber's defamation claims against Johnny Depp were unproven. Absolutely not.” Elaine also insisted that the jury was “influenced” by social media. “They went home every night.They have families.The families are on social media," she told NBC.
"We had a 10-day break in the middle because of the judicial conference.There's no way they couldn't have been influenced by it.” Speaking after the verdict, Amber described herself as being “heartbroken” with the result. Amber released a statement which read: “The disappointment I feel today is beyond words. I'm heartbroken that the mountain of evidence still was not enough to stand up to the disproportionate power, influence, and sway of my ex-husband.
