The former couple, who have found fame on their Channel 5 show Our Yorkshire Farm, announced their separation earlier this month after 22 years of marriage and nine children.
Amanda, 47, alluded to trouble in paradise before the couple's split in her book, Celebrating The Seasons With The Yorkshire Shepherdess, in which she described her 67 year old husband as "grumpy". In the book, she revealed that Clive would get angry when she was driving and would criticise her hobby of keeping horses, which he described as "frivolous".
She also said that her husband was discouraging when she wanted to embark on a health and fitness regime to lose weight.The mother-of-nine wrote: “In 2019 I decided as I’d been pregnant and/or breastfeeding for the last 20 years, it was time to start a tougher fitness regime. She then revealed that Clive shook his head and said: "Yer a daft bat, thee!" There was little mention of Clive in the book as Amanda wrote about juggling motherhood and work on the farm, and there was only one small picture of Clive in the book.
She also mentioned a story where Clive had fallen over as the pair took part in an obstacle course. Speaking about it, Amanda wrote: “I didn’t know whether to feel elated from the run, dejected by Clive’s comments, or laugh at how funny it was." Amanda also detailed her loneliness since the split, despite being surrounded by her nine children.
