Amanda Holden has joined the thousands of Buckingham Palace mourners to pay respect and tribute to Queen Elizabeth II after the monarch passed away, aged 96, on Thursday, 8 September. Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda, 51, looked sombre and downcast, bowing her head to the ground as she passed in front of mourners who have been gathering at what was the Queen's main residence. Amanda was quietly stylish, dressed in a navy blue midi-dress which featured long sleeves, a fishtail skirt and a white belt that cinched her in at the waist.
She matched the shade of her suede court shoes to her dress and wore dark sunglasses to shield her eyes as she paid her respects to the late Queen. It was announced at 6.30pm on 8 September that the Queen had passed away, with an official notice put out at Buckingham Palace which read: "The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. "The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow." The monarch's death has lead to an outpouring of grief all over the world, from commoners to celebrities and world leaders.
After it was announced by Buckingham Palace at lunchtime on Thursday that doctors were "concerned" for the Queen's health and that she was "comfortable at Balmoral", Amanda took to Instagram to share a photograph of the monarch in her earlier years as she wrote: "Praying for Our Queen". Once the news came that the beloved Queen had passed away, Amanda posted another picture, this time of the Queen at her Coronation, writing: "I think we all thought our Queen would live forever… "Her grace ,good humour and indomitable spirit.. embodied everything that made Great Britain , Great .
