Drake has reportedly signed a huge new deal with Universal Music Group.According to Variety, UMG chairman Sir Lucian Grainge confirmed the deal in a Q1 earnings call yesterday (May 3). The outlet has described the deal with Drake as an “expansive, multi-faceted deal with the company that encompasses recordings, publishing, merchandise and visual media projects”.One insider described the Drake deal to Variety as “Lebron-sized,” in reference to LeBron James’ $154million (£123million) NBA deal to join the LA Lakers in 2018, without putting a number on it.The agreement is believed to be similar to The Weeknd‘s recent long-term deal with Universal.

Nova Twins, Alfie Templeman, Caroline and Curtis Harding are among the acts that have been added to Latitude 2022’s massive festival line-up today (April 28).Foals, Maggie Rogers, Little Simz, Manic Street Preachers, Fontaines D.C., and Phoebe Bridgers were previously announced as performers for the four day Suffolk celebration, which is set to take place at Henham Park from July 21-24.The festival, which took a hiatus due to COVID in 2020 before returning last year, has announced more than 60 names across music, comedy, dance, and podcast for 2022. Aisling Bea, Marcus Brigstocke, and Rachel Parris are among the names that have been added to this year’s comedy bill.

Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett has shared a new solo single this week – listen to ‘High Plains Drifter’ below.The track is taken from his upcoming solo EP, ‘Portals’, which is released on April 23.In a press release, Hammett said the song shares inspiration with a 1973 film that has the same name as the track.“[The song] was not meant to be specifically music for that film, but…once it was written, I immediately thought it conveyed the same sentiment as the film, so the piece was christened accordingly.“The music for ‘High Plains Drifter’ initially came from a Flamenco piece I had written.
