Starz is really in the throes of a period renaissance. In the last few years, the cable channel has featured “Outlander,” “The Spanish Princess,” “The White Queen,” “The White Princess,” and just this month released “Mary & George” starring Julianne Moore (read our review).

Nick Vivarelli International Correspondent Josh O’Connor is in talks to star in Luca Guadagnino’s new drama “Separate Rooms,” an adaptation of the eponymous novel by the late Italian writer Pier Vittorio Tondelli. The story follows an Italian writer named Leo who is mourning the loss of his boyfriend. O’Connor, who stars in Guadagnino’s upcoming tennis love triangle film “Challengers” alongside Zendaya and Mike Faist, is in advanced talks to play Leo in “Separate Rooms,” whose passionate romance with a shy German musician named Thomas is marked by different forms of separation.

Kate Middleton‘s controversial uncle Gary Goldsmith issued a groveling apology on Saturday following the publication of an interview mere hours after the Princess of Wales announced her cancer diagnosis. “As many will have seen, I am featured in Saturday’s ‘Times Magazine’. This interview and shoot was done over a week ago and went to print before I was aware of the sad news regarding my niece Kate,” Goldsmith, 58, wrote on X.“My thoughts and prayers are with Kate and the wider family at this difficult time and deeply upset at the timing of this article,” he continued, adding that he hoped the announcement “draws a line over the continued speculation and horrible conspiracies.” “Let’s give Kate, William & the children time and show some love back,” he concluded.Several royal watchers on X seemed livid with the statement.

Penelope Cruz and Pedro Almodóvar have one of cinema’s great partnerships. The two Spanish stars have made seven films together, with Cruz revealing that she hopes to make “many more” in the years to come. Cruz was recently featured on the “Smartless” podcast, discussing her career with Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, and Sean Hayes.

Giancarlo Giannini plays Pope Leo; David Morse is Archbishop Michael Augustine Corrigan; and John Lithgow a villainous Mayor Gould — men Cabrini lectured, sparred with, cajoled and threatened to realize her life’s work. Canonized in 1946, she is the Patron Saint of Immigrants.
