A much-loved product that was a 'kids favourite' back in the 1980s is returning to shelves after being discontinued two years ago, Aldi has announced.
The retailer said that it will be the first supermarket to stock Elkes Sports Shortcake Biscuits as the product makes a return to shops.
The rectangular shortbread biscuits feature pictures of different sporting activities, such as cycling and cricket, and have a crimped edge. As well as being a favourite among kids and adults alike, they were also perfect for dunking in a cup of tea.

Aldi said: "Remember the good old days, when a simple sprinkle of sugar on bread made the perfect lunch? Or those adored biccies back at school, washed down with a glass of cold milk? No need to reminisce any further as, this January, Aldi is stepping in to help revive nostalgic memories with the return of previously discontinued Elkes Sports Shortcake Biscuits."
It comes after the supermarket announced it was lowering the price of dozens of popular products earlier this week. Aldi has slashed the price of more than 40 of its "most commonly-bought" items, such as as coffee, tinned soups, and pet food.
Earlier this month, consumer group Which? named Aldi the Cheapest Supermarket of the Year for 2023. The retailer was the cheapest supermarket for 11 months of 2023 and offered its customers the lowest prices for a typical Christmas shop, with Aldi being found to be 23 per cent cheaper than the average Big Four supermarkets.
Elkes Sports Shortcake Biscuits will be on sale in Aldi for 79p from Sunday, January 21.
