Gary Lineker has said that Erling Haaland’s miss against Manchester United is the ‘worst’ he’s seen in the Premier League.
Man City were searching for a way back into the game after Marcus Rashford’s stunning effort after just eight minutes shocked Pep Guardiola’s side. City went into the game as clear favourites to take all three points, but will now have to find a way to bounce back.

But the striker opted to try and volley the ball into the net instead of going with his head. The shot went sailing over the bar, leaving most in the stadium and those watching at home agast at the miss.
Match of the Day presenter Lineker took to X to share his surprise. “That might be the worst miss I’ve ever seen at this level,” he wrote.
“@ErlingHaaland has to head it. Incredible.”
It was a sentiment shared by Gary Neville, who was on commentary duty for Sky Sports. "What has he just done? What hasn’t he done," he said.
"They have been working it, working it and working for Manchester City and finally they get perfection apart from that. You cannot believe that Erling Haaland has put that over the bar. "
