26. Guitarist Joe Perry spoke out about the decision to retire from touring, citing the fact that all the band members are in their early to mid 70s as a big reason to give up this part of their careers. "I think it’s about time," he simply said.
The group, currently consisting of Perry, Tyler, Brad Whitford, Joey Kramer and Todd Hamilton, has been together since 1970, and in those 53 years, they've released hits like "Janie's Got a Gun," "Crazy" and "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing." They performed those songs and more in their Las Vegas residency that finished last year, and Perry suggested that they'd pull some of the production value from the residency to use in the upcoming tour. "It’s kind of a chance to celebrate the 50 years we’ve been out here," Perry said. "You never know how much longer everybody’s going to be healthy to do this.… It’s been a while since we’ve actually done a real tour.
We did that run in Vegas, which was great. It was fun, but (we're) kind of anxious to get back on the road." In a statement to The Associated Press, Tyler said, "We’re opening up Pandora’s Box one last time to present our fans with the Peace Out tour. Be there or beware as we bring all the toys out of the attic.

Garth Brooks admitted he once accidentally showered with Aerosmith's Steven Tyler. Brooks, 61, shared the moment during an appearance on "The Kelly Clarkson Show." "I showered with him," Brooks told Clarkson while the two were discussing Aerosmith. The country music star and Tyler both performed at a Billy Joel concert in July 2008. During his Thursday appearance on, the 61-year-old country star was playing a game of «Rock Star Roulette,» which calls for the guest to cover a song on whichever band or artist the arrow lands on. In this case, it landed on Aerosmith, which prompted Kelly Clarkson to rave about the band and swear that, as a kid, she thought she was going to marry Tyler.«You've have an Aerosmith song,» Clarkson said.

Steven Tyler‘s legal team have asked a judge to strike a claim of intentional inflection of emotional distress (IIED) “based on statements” Tyler made in memoirs.Last month, Tyler denied all allegations from a recent lawsuit accusing him of sexually assaulting a minor. The accusations were first raised in December, in which Julia Misley – who was known as Julia Holcomb at the time – accused the Aerosmith singer of sexual assault and battery dating back to the 1970s, when she was a minor. In the suit, she claimed that they were both involved in a sexual relationship for about three years and that the frontman convinced her mother to grant him guardianship over her when she was 16.The lawsuit also referenced Tyler’s memoirs, in which he recalled that he “almost took a teen bride” and described how her parents “signed a paper over for me to have custody, so I wouldn’t get arrested if I took her out of state.”As reported by Rolling Stone, the defences stated that all claims are “barred” as the claimant gave “consent”, and added that Tyler should be granted immunity as he was “caretaker and/or guardian” at the time. Now, according to Rolling Stone, in a new filing, Tyler’s lawyers are arguing that the parts of Misley’s suit based on the memoir make it a “Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation” (SLAPP).Tyler’s lawyers claim that the motion to strike is “made upon the grounds that” Misley filed a SLAPP because, “The conduct complained of arises out of statements made in Tyler’s published memoirs.
