A brother and sister from Scotland have been chosen to fly the flag for a Down Syndrome charity in a bid to remove negative perceptions of the condition.
Mum Christina Logan told how she was thrilled to discover Mikey and Marissa had been selected as the 2022 ambassadors for Wouldn’t Change a Thing.
The 61-year-old, from Balloch, Alexandria, told how the adorable youngsters keep her on her toes daily but have shared an incredible bond from the moment that they met.

She told how Marissa, affectionately known as Missy, enjoys everything a 10-year-old girl usually does such as unicorns and mermaids.

She said: “The whole idea behind the charity is to show that people and children with Down Syndrome are the same as everybody else.
“So any opportunity we can get to do that is great and I was absolutely delighted when we found out Mikey and Missy had been chosen.
“I was a foster carer for a long time and Mikey came to me when he was just 10 days old.
“I picked him up from the hospital and when I looked at him, I just knew that if he came up for adoption, I wanted to have him.
“And he did. He was placed for adoption and I put my name forward. He was here anyway and I wasn’t going to let him go.
“I fostered for a good few years after that and then I decided to stop fostering and to concentrate on Mikey. But I knew that there was still a place in the family for another child.”
Christina went to an adoption open day in December 2016 when she saw photographs of Marissa and
