An adorable 17-month-old Lurcher pup with his own doggy blog is desperately seeking his fur-ever home.
Lurcher pup Shug, from Saltcoats, hasn’t had the best start in life, having been born to a stray, rehomed and returned twice, with his third home neglecting him - including being starved of food and left standing in his own urine.
Shug, who currently has some problems with his paws, was rescued by the Ayrshire Drone Dog Rescue (ADDR) team and is now being looked after at K9 Country Club & Spa in Saltcoats.
And he’s been winning the hearts of Ayrshire folk with his daily blog on K9 Country Club & Spa’s Facebook page.
‘Shug’s Diary’ detail the pup’s daily activities including beach walks, sightseeing, making fur-iends, and the healing process of his paws.
Liz Milligan, lead volunteer with ADDR, said: “We trapped his mum as a stray.
“His first home weren’t giving him the time that he needed, and the owner said they couldn’t handle him.
“Another owner said they could definitely handle him but they couldn’t and we took Shug to a behaviourist for four weeks.
“He seemed to be absolutely fine and went to another home and it turns out they were battering him, leaving him standing in his own urine, he had worms and was well underweight.
“He’s had a terrible time at theirs.
“I went in with the police and lifted him. We’ve got him back but his paws are in a bit of a state, so we’re working on that.
“But he’s doing brilliant at K9. He was very full on with other dogs when he first got there but yesterday he played really gently with a pup and he’s been so good with other dogs.
“He’s coming on leaps and bounds, and the blog has really taken off. People are actually waiting on it now, it’s brilliant.”
Now ADDR are hosting a ‘meet and greet’ at K9
