Adele will be James Corden’s final ‘Carpool Karaoke’ guest

Despite fan speculation, Chicago Fire star Taylor Kinney is not going to appear in the season 11 finale. As Deadline previously reported exclusively, the fan favorite who plays Kelly Severide, has been on a leave of absence since January, dealing with a personal matter. Chicago Fire alum Jesse Spencer, who starred as Matt Casey alongside Kinney for 10 seasons, returned earlier this season and will guest star again in the season finale.

Having waved goodbye to Carpool Karaoke earlier in the week, James Corden brought the curtain down on his stint as host of The Late Late Show on Thursday night. Corden was joined during the finale by Tom Cruise, Will Ferrell, and Harry Styles.

In his last hoorah, Corden took the time to say his goodbyes to several stars who’ve graced his show in the past including Tom Cruise and Adele. He opened the final show with a rendition of “Last Show” (to the tune of “Last Dance”), and a quick opening monologue, before jumping into the final pre-taped scene with Cruise showing their performance of “The Lion King” at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood. He also had visits from guests Harry Styles and Will Ferrell, who both played “Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts” and destroyed “The Late Late Show” desk.

Adele left The Late Late Show host James Corden rather scared after almost crashing their car during his final Carpool Karaoke.The Rumour Has It singer, 34, gave James, 44, a rude awakening with some cymbals, as she announced she would be driving him to work for his last week on the show. A video clip of the duo's drive to work, in which they took part in the show's Carpool Karaoke, began with Adele telling James that she's "actually not a brilliant driver." She then added that she can't sing without closing her eyes, which, considering they were about to start karaoke could have been cause for concern.
