Adam and Ryan Thomas are reportedly being lined up as new game show hosts and they're even 'tipped to be new Ant and Dec'. The brothers, who are no strangers to the world of TV and showbiz, are said to be in talks to front new game show 99 To Beat which could fill the gap in the ITV schedule on a Saturday night left by Ant And Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, which ends on April 13. The Mirror described 99 To Beat as a mix of Taskmaster and Squid Game and will feature 100 contestants whose only aim is not to come last in each round.
Ryan, 39, found fame playing Jason Grimshaw on Coronation Street, a role he portrayed for almost 16 years, before leaving the show in 2016. He was back on our screens in 2024, when he took part in Dancing on Ice, which he went on to win. His younger brother Adam stars on Waterloo Road as Donte Charles.
He first played the role in 2006 to 2009, but reprised it in early 2023. He's also taken part in reality TV, having starred on Strictly Come Dancing in 2023. There is a third Thomas brother, in the form of former Love Island star, Scott, who is Adam's twin.
If the rumours about the new game show are true, Adam and Ryan could be back on TV sooner rather than later. A source told The Mirror: "This game show will bring plenty of laughs and needs happy-go-lucky hosts at the helm. Ryan and Adam fit the bill perfectly and it would be great to see the brothers working together as TV hosts for the first time'.
"It could be a really exciting new chapter for them and should be a lot of fun.
They are so natural together. Hey, it worked for Ant and Dec." OK! has contacted Ryan and Adam's reps and ITV for comment. In May 2023, Ant and Dec announced that they were taking a break from Saturday Night Takeaway, as
