A teenager was rescued from the banks of the River Irwell in Salford.
The boy, 16, was pulled to safety by firefighters using a ladder at around 7pm tonight.
The fire service said the teen was stuck on a section of the riverbank off New Bridge Street.
A large number of police vehicles and fire engines were seen on Triinity Way as the rescue was carried out.
The boy was pulled to safety and handed over to North West Ambulance Service.
