A Movie as Long as 'The Irishman' Shouldn't Win Best Picture

Hulu has nabbed exclusively U.S. streaming rights to “Parasite,” the film that made history as the first foreign-language film to win best picture at this year’s Oscars.

"I thought it was best foreign film," the president said of the film that won the Academy's top honor.

Donald Trump has mocked South Korean film Parasite and its best picture victory at the Oscars.

While the world appreciated the Academy for recognising talent beyond boundaries and language barriers when they presented Parasite with Best Picture award at Oscars 2020, US President Donald Trump did not think it was a good idea. While delivering a speech at a rally on January 20, Trump mocked Oscars for the South Korean film’s historic win, Variety reported.

"I thought it was best foreign film," the president said of the film that won the Academy's top honor.

A historic win! Parasite won Best Picture at the 92nd Academy Awards on Sunday, February 9, in Los Angeles — beating out top contenders Joker and The Irishman — and becoming the first foreign language film to take home the prize.

Nine films have been nominated for Best Picture. This includes Parasite, 1917, Jo Jo Rabbit, Joker, Ford v Ferrari, Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, Marriage Story and Little Women. While several bets are placed on Parasite taking home the Academy Award for Best Picture this year, there are also predictions that 1917 and Joker stand a chance to win the Best Picture award. Jonas reached out to her fans and asked them who would win the Oscars for Best Picture this year. 

This weekend will see the 92nd Academy Awards take place, celebrating the best films of the year that was 2019. To mark the build-up to the occasion, we take a look at the past winners of the 2010s, with a personal ranking of the winners of the Best Picture races of their respective years!
