Chicago recorded another bloody weekend in which more than two dozen people were shot and nine murdered, including a 13-year-old boy at a park and an 87-year-old woman in a wheelchair, authorities said. The eruption of violence occurred throughout the city between 6 p.m. Friday and 11:59 p.m.

Legislators in Michigan are mulling a bill that would classify allowing minors to go through gender transition procedures as child abuse. A Michigan teenager allegedly jumped over the retaining wall of a freeway and fell 25 to 30 feet after running out of gas in an allegedly stolen Mustang during a police chase on Wednesday evening, the Brownstown Police Department said.
