The Creative Arts Emmys experienced a minor bump in the road when Jason Bateman was announced as the winner of "This Is Us" actor Ron Cephas Jones' award. The error occurred during Saturday's online Creative Arts Emmys, the precursor to Sunday's main ceremony and the culmination of a week of events honoring technical and other achievements.

There are so many categories at the Emmy Awards that every year, the Television Academy also has the Creative Arts Emmys ceremony where the bulk of the awards are handed out.

The second night of the Creative Arts Emmys was dominated by many familiar faces as “Saturday Night Live,” “Last Week Tonight with John Stewart,” “Live in Front of a Studio Audience,” “The Oscars” and “RuPaul’s Drag Race” took home multiple awards. Notable wins included Marina Toybina and her team taking Costume Design for “The Masked Singer” and Don Roy King winning Directing for a Variety Series for the fourth straight year.

The Television Academy is handing out its 2020 Creative Arts Emmy Awards over five nights. From Monday-Saturday, awards will be presented in categories encompassing guest performances, writing, directing, sound editing and mixing, costumes, lighting and numerous other areas.

In an obviously completely taped ceremony, hosted by Nicole Byer, the first night of the 2020 Creative Arts Emmys kicked off with Netflix and National Geographic tallying the most wins for networks counting trophies. On the nominee side, “Apollo II” and led all individual winners with three trophies each.
