Zola Mashariki, who spent 15 years at Fox Searchlight and also had stints at BET and Just Mercy production company One Community, has been named head of Audible Studios.

The trailer of Zola, a film based on the infamous 2015 Twitter thread about a wild stripper road trip was dropped recently and it looks every bit as dramatic as the thread was. A24's Zola dramedy has dropped a new trailer that's as predictably wild as the epic stripper saga set in Florida's flesh trade from writer-director Janicza Bravo and which stars Taylour Paige and Riley Keough.

It’s been years in the making, but Zola’s story is finally coming to the big screen.

Taylour Paige stars as the titular Detroit waitress who is seduced by a customer, Stefani (Riley Keough), into taking a road trip to make some fast money dancing in Florida. What comes next involves a pimp (Colman Domingo), an idiot boyfriend (Nicholas Braun) and probably the craziest 48 hours in Florida, ever.

Back in 2015, A’Ziah “Zola” King turned a story from her life into a high-octane Twitter thread involving stripping, violence, pimps, and murder. The 148 tweet thread broke the internet and caught the attention of the film industry, and was quickly picked up by A24 with Janicza Bravo as writer and director.
