Zoe Ball told former husband Fatboy Slim she ‘tried to block him from her memory’ as she interviewed him on her radio show. The 52 year old host made the joke as she chatted to her DJ ex - real name Norman Cook - on her BBC Radio 2 breakfast show about all things Glastonbury on Friday morning. Zoe and Norman were married in 1999 and had two children together - Woody, 22, and 13 year old Nelly - but divorced in 2016, saying they had come to ‘the end of their rainbow’ after ‘many exciting adventures together’.
Norman - who started his music career in 1980s rock group The Housemartins - is set to headline the Park Stage at Glastonbury on Saturday night - so Zoe quizzed him about his previous experiences playing at the festival. She started by asking him about the first time he attended Glastonbury. Norman said: “First time I went to Glastonbury was 1986 with The Housemartins.” Zoe further probed: “Did you play or you were just hanging out? You played.” When Norman replied they played on the Pyramid Stage, Zoe asked where they appeared on the bill.
Norman quipped: “Do you not know this? You know nothing about me.” Zoe replied: "I know nothing about you. I've tried to block it from my memory. No I’m only kidding." The pair continued to make light of the fact they were once married.
Zoe said they ‘hadn’t had a natter on a microphone on a radio show or a telly show for quite a long time’. Norman replied: “There was an embargo on account of us being man and wife and there's an embargo on the account that we weren’t man and wife again. The professional you is very different from the real you. I'm impressed that you put this on for your listeners.” Zoe responded: “I think most of my listeners know that I can be quite unprofessional
