A smiling family portrait of the King, his son who is the first in line to the throne and their wives has been released by Buckingham Palace.The image of King Charles III and his Queen Consort, standing alongside the Prince and Princess of Wales, was taken at Buckingham Palace on September 18, just 10 days after Queen Elizabeth II’s death.The senior royals are wearing black as the image was taken while they were in mourning for the Queen – leading the nation in grief, but also carrying out official engagements. Charles, 73, is standing with his left hand held at the top of his pocket, while his right arm is gently tucked around Camilla’s waist.

Following Queen Elizabeth II’s death, the royal family had to adjust to properly greeting the new monarch, King Charles III.

Mike Tindall shared how he nearly embarrassed himself while meeting with the new king.

Mike Tindall has admitted he was almost the victim of a royal protocol faux pas during a private meeting with King Charles III. The former rugby player, who is married to the late Queen Elizabeth II's granddaughter Zara Tindall, described his blunder during an episode of his his sports podcast The Good, The Bad, and The Rugby. The 43 year old told his fellow hosts James Haskell and Alex Payne that he very nearly curtseyed the King, after mirroring his wife.

Zara and Mike Tindall's daughter Mia provided some light relief from the solemnity of today after she hopscotched after the Queen's committal service in Windsor. The eight year old held on to her parents' hands as she did the sweet child's game, dressed in a black dress with a matching headband.

The coffin had been Lying-in-State in at Westminster Hall since last Thursday, but was taken in procession from the Palace of Westminster to Westminster Abbey on Monday morning, where Her Majesty's state funeral service took place.Following the funeral, the coffin traveled in procession from Westminster Abbey to Wellington Arch, and then to Windsor. Once there, the coffin was placed inside the State Hearse.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte stood in front of their mother, with George looking directly at the coffin as it passed.

On September 8, 2022, Queen Elizabeth II died “peacefully” at age 96 and Britain entered 10 days of mourning to honor her 70 years of service as the head of the monarchy. The details of her funeral raise the question as to where the Queen will be buried, and it’s a location steeped in royal history dating back to 1475.
