The allegations stem from a since-deleted interview with Kogan — published in August 2022 by The Shade Room with the headline “Penis Enhancements Are More Popular Than Ever & BBL’s Are Dying Out: Cosmetic Surgery CEO Angela Kogan Speaks On it (Exclusive)” — that listed 50 Cent among Kogan’s clients, along with FloRida, Odell Beckham Jr., and “more, that remain confidential.” The offending article also included the shot of 50 (whose legal name is Curtis James Jackson III) and Kogan arm in arm in its thumbnail image, juxtaposed with a photo of a patient in an open hospital gown with a large eggplant emoji covering his genitals.

The YouTuber who was found liable for defamation in relation to various videos she posted about Cardi B has asked the Eleventh Circuit appeals court in the US to reverse that judgement and order a new trial. Among other things she argues that it was never proven she acted with actual malice when making her videos about Cardi B and that the exclusion of evidence about the rapper’s character in court resulted in a “very lopsided” hearing.Latasha Kebe was sued by Cardi B – real name Belcalis Almanzar – over various claims that were made about the rapper in her YouTube videos.
That included that Almanzar “was a prostitute … was a user of cocaine … had and still has herpes … had and still has HPV … engaged in a debasing act with a beer bottle and … committed infidelity”.When the dispute got to court in January, Kebe basically admitted that she didn’t fact-check any of the allegations made about Almanzar on her YouTube channel, even when the rapper was actively denying those allegations, and even when they were being made by a guest that she suspected was lying. She also insisted that most of the allegations that featured in her videos were simply “opinions”, even though that’s not how they were usually framed in the videos themselves.Almanzar and her legal team, meanwhile, discussed the impact that the various allegations had on the rapper’s mental health – a defamation claim needing to show damage as well as untruths.

Gene Maddaus Senior Media Writer A man who met writer-director Paul Schrader at a campus event at their Michigan alma mater has filed a lawsuit alleging that Schrader later stole his ideas and used them in the film “The Card Counter.” Mark Vanden Berge alleges in the suit that he met Schrader after a screening of “First Reformed” at Calvin University, a Christian college in Grand Rapids, in February 2018. He says he told Schrader about a treatment he was working on for a film called “Blown Odds,” about a gambler’s search for redemption, and asked Schrader for help developing it into a marketable screenplay. According to the suit, Schrader told him to email him the treatment. Vanden Berge sent it to him, according to the suit, but never heard back from Schrader directly, though he says he was told that Schrader had received it.
