A young Scots soldier tragically died from a head injury after being shot through his helmet during a live-fire training exercise in Northumberland.

A young man who was tragically found dead in his bed was due to pick up keys to his new home that morning.
Ryan McCarroll, of Blantyre, died in his sleep aged 27. His body was discovered by his heartbroken mum Annie on Tuesday, October 18.
The young factory worker's death is currently being treated as unexplained as the family await post mortem and toxicology test results.
Ryan was described as an fitness fanatic by his devastated brother JohnPaul, 33, who said his death has left his family in shock.
He told the Record: "He went to sleep and never woke up again.
"He was living with my mum at the time. My mum can't stay in the house anymore as she found him. She has taken it really bad.
"Ryan was going to pick up the keys to his new house that morning."
"It has been devastating and it is still a shock. I feel like I'm going to wake up and it's all been a dream."
Paying tribute to his little brother, JohnPaul added: "Ryan was such a lively soul. He was outgoing and he loved to have a laugh and party.
"He loved his fitness and went to the gym after work. He was just a normal young guy in his twenties.
Ryan's funeral will be held at Saint Andrews Church in Blantyre and the procession will be green and gold to mark his love for Glasgow Celtic.
His cousin Courtney is fundraising to help JohnPaul and mum Annie with costs. So far almost £1,000 has been raised.
Writing on the fundraising page, she said: "Our beloved Ryan McCarroll suddenly passed away in his sleep on 18th October . Ryan was a wonderful son, brother , nephew & cousin who touched the lives of those around him.
"Ryan’s life was sadly cut short at the age of 27 leaving behind his mum Annie and brother JohnPaul.
