'Yellowjackets' Season 2 - One New Star Added to Cast & One Promoted to Series Regular!

Joe Otterson TV Reporter “The Conners” star Michael Fishman is leaving the ABC sitcom ahead of Season 5, Variety has confirmed. Fishman played DJ Tanner in the series, reprising the role he played for 10 seasons on “Roseanne.” Exact details on how Fishman will be written out of the show are currently under wraps, but it will supposedly leave the door open for him to return. Jayden Rey, who plays DJ’s daughter Mary in the show, will also not be back as a series regular, though she will appear in a guest star role. John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson, Emma Kenney, Ames McNamara, Jay R. Ferguson, and Katey Sagal will all return for the new season. Fishman first began playing DJ Tanner in 1988 in the second episode of “Roseanne.” He stayed with the show throughout its first nine seasons, returning along with the rest of the original cast for the 2018 revival. He has also directed five episodes of “The Conners” since 2020, most recently directing the Season 4 episode “Messy Situation, Miscommunication and Academic Probation.”

Scott McCord, who recurred as Victor in Season 1, has been promoted to series regular for Season 2. Additionally, Nathan D. Yellowjackets as the adult version of Van, Showtime announced Thursday.The alum will be a series regular, confirming speculation that the character — whose fate was left unclear at the end of the first season — is indeed still alive and kicking. Actress Liv Hewson, who played the teen version of Van, has also been promoted to series regular for season 2.Filming on the new season goes into production in Vancouver later this month.Back in February, ET connected with Hewson and co-star Tawny Cypress, who plays the adult version of Taissa, about their characters' budding romance and the prospects of an adult Van joining the fray.“Taissa’s marriage seems to be in shambles,” Cypress said, referring to Taissa’s estranged wife, Simone (Rukiya Bernard), in the present day. “It’d be really fun to see an adult Taissa meeting up with an adult Van and where that goes and what that history is all about.”  “Poor Simone, oh my god,” Hewson added.
