Former X Factor star Jahmene looks almost unrecognisable a decade on from appearing on the reality show. Jahmene Douglas, now 31, appeared on the ITV show in 2012 and ended the series in second place behind winner James Arthur. When the singer appeared in the show a decade ago, where he was mentored by Pussycat Dolls' Nicole Scherzinger, he sported a clean shaven face and cropped hair.
In the years since, the star has grown out his hair and now wears some stylish facial hair, looking completely different from his fresh faced X Factor days. While he didn't win the show, Jahmene has gone on to have a successful career in music and today works as a soul and gospel singer, songwriter and poet, according to his Instagram. However, despite shooting to fame in such a short space of time on the X Factor, things weren’t always plain sailing.

Last year, Jahmene cautioned wannabe stars from going on a reality show like The X Factor, as it “isn’t a singing competition”. Speaking about his experiences in a YouTube video called X Factor Xposed, Jahmene said: “X Factor isn’t a singing competition, it’s a reality TV show, I realised who I was on it.They didn’t care about my singing, they care about the story behind you." “When I went on the show, it wasn’t about the story that I had, it was about my voice. That’s what I wanted to push," he went on.
