A number of residents at Castle View Care Home in Dumbarton have died as a result of suspected coronavirus.
Staff at the facility, run by HC-One, are said to be “absolutely distraught” by the deaths.
The Care Inspectorate is liaising with bosses and West Dunbartonshire health and social care partnership.
