A woman who repeatedly hit a friend over the head with a bottle in an “unprovoked attack” has avoided jail.
Heather Russell struck her victim with such force it caused her to lose consciousness for several minutes.
The assault took place in Bury on October 23, 2019.
The victim had just left the Job Centre on Silver Street when she met 42-year-old Russell outside.
