Going to university is a big adventure and should be one of the 'best times of your life', but we all know it costs a lot of money. There are university fees and loans to think about.
However, one woman was shocked to discover that money set aside to pay for her university was spent by her parents - on her brother's wedding.
The American woman took to Reddit, explaining she thought she was lucky because she had money saved for her education. But now she is "suing her parents" to get her college money back.
She thought she had over $13,000 (£10,110) ready for school. But when she checked at the bank, she found out it was "almost all gone".
The woman said that her great-aunt had made savings accounts for all the girls in the family. When the great-aunt died, they could use the money, reports the Mirror.
The lady who wrote on Reddit said: "In our culture, learning for girls isn't usually important, but she didn't agree with that. She lived with her dad in London and went to school there. She then went to university and became a doctor. She married a man from Britain, moved to America, and had a good life. She helped as many of her nieces and grand-nieces go to school as she could.
"When she passed away she left money for every girl relative she could."
However, her parents managed to access the accounts set up for her and her sister, and "used it to pay for my brother's wedding", she claimed.
She added: "My sister didn't care because she got married two years out of high school and had no intention of going to college. When I graduated I went to the bank to get money for school and it was almost all gone. There was like $13,000 left."
She confronted her parents after discovering a significant amount of the money was missing.
