A woman has shared a simple rule to follow for drying washing during the winter if you don't want to rely on heating or the tumble dryer.
Thanks to skyrocketing bills, many people are wary about their energy usage and are looking for more budget-friendly ways to do household chores, including laundry.
And while there are plenty of popular gadgets right now for drying clothes, such as heated airers and humidifiers, doing one classic trick ensures that your laundry will dry without using any energy all year round.
TikTok user Chloesdealclub has built up an impressive following of over 18,000 on the video-sharing site, thanks to her handy cost of living tips and advice.
And one of her latest videos focusing on drying wet laundry has racked up over 94,000 views, as she says the tip has saved her a "small fortune" over the years.
In the video, she said: "If you stick to this one simple rule when doing your washing, you will save money."
She's then seen to carry a clothes airer full of wet laundry outside into her garden, with a voiceover in the background saying: "No matter what time of year it is, if the ground is dry, your washing will dry."
Airing out clothes to dry in winter might seem like a risky game, especially in Scotland, but Chloe suggested taking advantage of any dry weather and putting your laundry out to dry.
And many people in the comments agreed that this was a really effective way of doing it, with one saying: "My washing goes out everyday obviously not when lashing down, as if it been out it’ll dry quicker in the house on airer."
Another agreed, writing: "Yep! Always use this rule."
