A police investigation is underway after a woman was attacked by a dog.
The woman was walking on Kilwinning Road, Stewarton at around 1.10pm when the attack took place.
Police confirmed today that the woman was left shaken by the incident but did not require medical treatment.
Officers say that the attack forced the woman to step out on to the toad and a black car stopped at the time of the assault.
Cops are now appealing for anyone who may have information regarding the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We are appealing for information after a woman was attacked by a Mastiff-type brown dog around 1.10 pm on Thursday, 14 September, as she was walking on Kilwinning Road, Stewarton.
"The woman was shaken but did not require medical treatment.
"The incident caused the woman to step onto the roadway, and a black car stopped at the time of the incident. I’d appeal to the driver of that car and any witnesses to the incident to contact 101, quoting incident 2413 of September 25."
