A woman has ditched apps to date herself this Valentines and even buys her own gifts. Claire Kenny, 47, has set up her own social media page for singletons who may feel lonely this month.
The singleton from Yorkshire has vowed to sack off 'excruciating' online dates and swap it with activities to embrace her lifestyle. She finally decided that enough was enough and was tired of feeling sorry for herself over her lack of romance.
Claire says she wants instead to focus on finding love for herself. Hull Live reports that she also helps others through her social media page that she created for those struggling with being single.
The 47-year-old has now amassed over 4,000 followers, with her decision to priortising for self-love building up a little community. She has utilized her platform to help others do the same with Valentines Day just round the corner.
Speaking to Diamonds Factory UK, Claire said: "I gradually identified that what was missing in my life was not necessarily ‘relationship-shaped’ and got fed up of feeling sorry for myself. I decided to do everything I could to embrace my single status and build a life I loved, regardless of whether or not I had a partner.
"I found that as my life started to include more of the things I enjoyed doing, I stopped worrying about what I did on Saturday nights.
"In fact, I found myself looking forward to my ‘solo Saturdays’. Although for many people it’s the big night out, for me it’s become my precious time to relax and recharge.
"I cook something lovely, watch what I want on the tv and enjoy my home."

One concession suggested by the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) was for Microsoft to sell the Call Of Duty series to another buyer.As reported by Eurogamer, Smith attended a press briefing in Brussels yesterday (February 21), where Microsoft defended its attempts at acquiring Activision Blizzard.“We just don’t see a viable path to sell the Activision studio or Call Of Duty game to someone else,” Smith told press.

The project, which will be based on Homer’s ancient classic “The Odyssey,” is directed by Academy Award nominee Uberto Pasolini and written by Edward Bond, John Collee and Pasolini. The project, announced last year, reunited “The English Patient” co-stars Fiennes and Binoche after 25 years. The pic will also star Venice Film Festival Best Young Actor Award winner Charlie Plummer, with production beginning in Greece this spring in the regions of Corfu and the Peloponnese, before continuing in Italy. Bleecker Street will release the film in theaters in 2024.
