Microsoft president Brad Smith has said the company doesn’t “see a viable path” to buying Activision Blizzard without its Call Of Duty series, warning regulators that any concessions of the like could “kill” the deal.Currently, the proposed £50billion acquisition is facing resistance from European, US and UK regulators, with a number of watchdogs pushing for Microsoft to make concessions for the deal to pass. One concession suggested by the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) was for Microsoft to sell the Call Of Duty series to another buyer.As reported by Eurogamer, Smith attended a press briefing in Brussels yesterday (February 21), where Microsoft defended its attempts at acquiring Activision Blizzard.“We just don’t see a viable path to sell the Activision studio or Call Of Duty game to someone else,” Smith told press.

Thania Garcia Rising stars Ice Spice and PinkPantheress have locked in their first top 10 single with “Boy’s a Liar Pt. 2.” In its second week on the chart, the team-up between drill rap’s latest it-girl and the English hyper-pop artist surges to a new No. 4 peak from its previous No. 14 debut. This week the song climbed by up to 54% in streams for a total sum of 31 million, according to data by Luminate. “Boy’s a Liar” first appeared on PinkPantheress’ “Take Me Home” EP last year, though the new “Pt. 2” remix sees Ice Spice adding rap verses over the two-minute bubblegum pop track. It’s the first time in the top ten for either artist and the first Hot 100 appearance for producer Mura Masa. The single’s accompanying visual, which features PinkPantheress and Ice Spice singing along to the track in different locations across New York, was released on Feb. 3 and currently boasts over 24 million views on YouTube. The project, which will be based on Homer’s ancient classic “The Odyssey,” is directed by Academy Award nominee Uberto Pasolini and written by Edward Bond, John Collee and Pasolini. The project, announced last year, reunited “The English Patient” co-stars Fiennes and Binoche after 25 years. The pic will also star Venice Film Festival Best Young Actor Award winner Charlie Plummer, with production beginning in Greece this spring in the regions of Corfu and the Peloponnese, before continuing in Italy. Bleecker Street will release the film in theaters in 2024.
