British chart-topper Dave will join US megastars J Cole and Cardi B as they headline an outdoor festival in the city between Friday, July 8 and Sunday, July 10.

But it has not been hosted in Birmingham since 2014. Now, NEC Birmingham in Solihull will be one of three locations the event is staged with acts also performing in London's Crystal Palace and Finsbury Park.
And it won't just be the three major names. Over two weekends, bosses have promised some of the biggest artists in the world. A spokesperson told BirminghamLive: "The biggest ever Wireless Festival is taking place at three sites – Crystal Palace, Finsbury Park and returning to Birmingham NEC for the first time since 2014.
"This will be Europe’s biggest celebration of contemporary black music -if not in the world) - and our first-ever partnership with BBC R1Xtra. "Wireless has promised a second drop of names will be released at 12 noon on February 25. Organisers said a huge number of acts would showcase a spectrum of genres with many not playing at any other festivals in Europe.

A local Chechen court on Tuesday jailed queer siblings Salekh Magamadov (21) and Ismail Isaev (19) to almost a decade behind bars after finding them guilty of “complicity with illegal armed formations”.The siblings had first come to the notice of authorities in 2019 after an officer found an LGBTQI Pride flag on Ismail’s phone.
