On 8 June, Paris saw fashionistas flocking to the SHEIN X Runway Show, where the global fashion, beauty, and lifestyle e-retailer revealed 78 stunning new looks by up-and-coming designers on the theme of ‘Endless Summer.’ The show also offered a glimpse of the very first collection from newcomer Amy Sala, winner of the third edition of the SHEIN X Challenge. The budding British designer beat over 2,400 hopefuls from across Europe to win €10,000 to support her design projects and the opportunity for her work to be showcased by SHEIN. Back in March, 25 finalists presented a panel of industry experts with three designs suitable for Spring/Summer 2023.
After two days of mentoring and deliberation, the judges – including designers Julien Fournié and Colin Horgan, the International Director of Education at Accademia Costume & Moda in Rome Adrien Roberts – chose Amy as the overall winner of the close-fought competition. The Manchester Fashion Institute graduate presented a bold collection inspired by Y2K, featuring pops of sheer colour and modern, loose silhouettes. Her designs were praised for being wearable, contemporary, and considerate of different skin tones and shapes, making them accessible to everyone.
Amy’s chosen colour palette – a mix of pistachio and raspberry pastels – was also described by Fournié as “unprecedented,” proving her to be a promising emerging talent. Over the last two years, SHEIN has invested more than £44m in its flagship incubator program, SHEIN X.

Alison Herman TV Critic The hit British film “The Full Monty” — for a brief period in 1997, the most lucrative release in U.K. history — was, in some ways, the original “Magic Mike.” The comedy chronicled six unemployed ex-steelworkers in post-Thatcher North England as they formed a stripping troupe. (The name referred to the strippers’ willingness to bare all, genitalia included.) By treating sex work as a symbol of larger economic malaise, “The Full Monty” anticipated the approach Steven Soderbergh would take stateside over two decades later. “Magic Mike” has since ballooned into a full-blown phenomenon spanning a trilogy of films, a reality show and a globally successful stage revue. “The Full Monty” has, until now, resisted such expansion. (There have been a handful of stage adaptations, though nothing on the scale of “Magic Mike Live.”) But on June 14, FX will stream all eight episodes of a TV sequel, also called “The Full Monty,” on Hulu. The show carries the same set of core characters a quarter century into the future — minus the nudity, but retaining the same bittersweet mix of working class social realism and irreverent humor to take the edge off. Even affable British indies, it would seem, are not immune from the modern IP boom.

Mark Sutherland “I know you didn’t come here to listen to this,” sighed Roger Waters as he surveyed the O2 crowd. With most aging rockers on a “first-ever farewell tour”, that statement would likely mean they were about to play some new material. At Roger Waters’ show, sadly, it meant he was about to sing the same old song. Sure enough, an extended rant against “the Israeli lobby” and British MP Christian Wakeford followed. “They are trying to cancel me,” he claimed, to at first hesitant, but then louder applause. “And it hurts. We’ve done 80 shows and we’ve done nothing but share our love for people. That’s why I’m so pissed off with this Israeli lobby bullshit.” He also accused his critics of, “Making up stuff because you’ve been told to by your masters from the Foreign Office in Tel Aviv.”
Big Brother is reportedly bringing back a legend as ITV is said to have signed a deal with original narrator Marcus Bentley, and what's more, viewers will also apparently be able to watch a live stream of the show. Way back in the early 2000s, when the likes of Kate Lawler, Alison Hammond and the late Jade Goody ruled Channel 4 and E4 screens, bosses decided to have a live feed on E4 24/7 so that hardcore fans could even watch the stars while they slept. Apart from a few minutes' delay, and an audio overlay with birds chirping during swearing or brand mentions, the live feed was 100 per cent unedited.
