Men in Black star Will Smith shocked the world by slapping Chris Rock live on television. The actor and dad-of-three, 53, lashed out at comedian Chris after he made a quip about wife Jada’s shaved head. Marching onto the stage at the Academy Awards, Will took a swing at Chris and shouted an intimidating threat in front of Hollywood’s finest actors. Watching the scene, Will’s son Jaden commented on Twitter: ‘And that’s how we do it’.
Will has since issued a public apology to Chris, the Academy and everyone who witnessed his violent outburst. But according to an expert he needs to teach his son a lesson, too. Psychologist Angela Karanja tells OK!: “Will Smith’s apology was genuine - he owned up and realised the hurt he caused.
“Now he needs to privately and deeply apologise to his son and reinforce that this is not ‘how we do it’.” Jaden may think that his dad’s violence was justified as he was protecting his wife, says Angela. She adds: “This is a strong emotional stamp on a young person’s life. Jaden’s sprouted a new way of thinking, that this is the right way of dealing with a similar situation.” Download the OK!
