Challenge Cup winners Wigan Warriors are remembering and paying tribute to all the heroes who have served and continue to serve the country with a special, themed Armed Forces Day celebration.
The Warriors will return home for the first time in six weeks with French outfit Toulouse Olympique - the visitors to the DW Stadium in Round 16 of Super League.
In celebration of Armed Forces Day on June 25, Wigan Warriors will host their own day of remembrance 24 hours earlier on Friday, June 24, during the build-up of the Super League fixture which will kick off at 8pm.
To get things underway, there will be a warm-up game before the first team game – taking place at Robin Park Arena.
The Army will take on the Police in a friendly match where all fans can attend for free between 6pm and 7.30pm.
Members of the Fire Service, Royal British Legion, Army, and Navy Cadets and Reeva programme will all be present too.
The Reeva programme is run by local organisation Red Oak Kennel Services, and helps to improve the quality of life by providing training assistance dogs for veterans with mental health difficulties.
Robin Park Arena will also see the re-birth of Wigan’s new and improved Fan Village, which will be open from 6pm.
The Fan Village is the perfect place to soak up the pre-match atmosphere on game day, featuring food and drink, live music from local talent and live Q&As before and after the game with first team players.
The one and only Mighty Max, Warrior Cheerleaders, and the Wigan Rugby Heritage Society are always in attendance too.
