Steven McMyler's death was likely caused by a heavy kick to his head, a jury has heard.
The 34-year-old joiner from Marsh Green died after he was found with serious injuries in the gardens of Wigan Parish Church on August 6 last year.
Prosecutors allege that he was attacked by a group of young men who were trying to rob him and take his Rolex watch.
