Michaela Zee editor Kane Brown is set to receive the 2022 Champion of the Youth Award at Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s 75th National Youth of the Year gala, Variety has learned exclusively. The award will be presented to Brown, an avid supporter of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, by Courtney B. Vance. The ceremony, which is typically held in Washington, D.C., will take place in Los Angeles, with Entertainment Tonight’s Nischelle Turner set to host and name the 2022 National Youth of the Year. The annual event honors teens awarded on the local, state and regional levels, where one finalist will claim the national title. “For 75 years, we’ve recognized courageous young people who establish themselves as leaders and changemakers, not only in their local communities, but all across the nation,” said Jim Clark, president and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of America. “This year, we’re thrilled to move the celebration to Los Angeles, honoring our National Youth of the Year with many trusted youth advocates and national leaders.”

Kane Brown is making music history this weekend as the first country music artist to perform on the MTV VMAs stage. As if that was not enough, he is also making history as the first performer to incorporate a mixed reality element from the Toyota stage into his performance, promising audiences something completely new and different. "It's such an iconic show to be a part of, and I just feel really honored that they asked me.

After Brown’s classmate Lauren Alaina placed second on season 10 of "American Idol" and broke into the music industry, Brown decided to take his own talents as a singer and try to recreate Alaina’s success.

Goldenvoice announced the performers and dates for the ’23 gathering Monday morning, just a little more than four months after the 2022 festival took place. The next fest will take place April 28 – 30, 2023, with passes going on sale Friday at 10 a.m. PT. Prices for passes range from $389 for advance general admission to $1,499 for the GA standing pit and $1,999 for prime reserved seating.
